C4SJ: Panel Discussion with Law Enforcement
On Sun, Apr 3, the Connections for Social Justice (C4SJ) Team of New Beginnings Community Church (NBCC) and Congregation Beth Jacob (CBJ) hosted an open dialogue with a panel of law enforcement representatives. The event included a Q&A session, open comments and discussion session.
It was about a year ago that we gathered together in a similar panel discussion with local Law Enforcement officials in light of high profile cases involving police shootings of and violence against, African Americans. As of January 1, 2022, several laws have been passed involving police reform and use of force. This year’s panel was a follow-up to ask questions, listen and create a community where our concerns are addressed.
This was the latest in a series of events that the women of CBJ and NBCC have held together to foster community and build relationships between our two congregations.
The panel of law enforcement included:
Chief Sean Washington, Fremont’s Chief of Police
Assistant Sheriff Edward A. Wood, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office
Police Chief Chris Hsiung, Mountain View Police Department
