A Faith That Endures

In this third and final installment of the Unshakeable Faith series, Pastor Hurmon helps us answer the question: What skills do we need for an unshakeable life when facing an uncertain future?

In order to live an unshakeable life, we must learn practical skills. We must learn three prayers: a prayer for strength, a prayer for guidance, and a prayer of declaration. When we pray declaratory prayers, we proclaim that God is able, that we have faith in Him to do what we ask, and that even He does not and we do not understand, we still trust Him. We must live our faith according to this prayer paradigm by not allowing anything to take away our worship. We must be courageously vulnerable, which includes asking God and other people for help. Our unshakeable faith must accept that suffering is part of walking with God. Therefore, our faith must accommodate suffering and make us usable to the Kingdom of God instead of disposable. In the end, we declare not only declare that God is good, able, and for us, but also that God will have the last word.

Response to the Message:
I will trust Jesus above all else.

Reflection Question:
Does my faith accommodate suffering?
