Team Planning Sheets

VIP time:

VIP time is to share vision, information, and prayers.  VIP time is at 10:20 AM in San Jose, and at 10:30 AM in Redwood City before the 11:00 AM gathering.

Team leader:

One per age group to facilitate connections and communication amongst the team volunteers.

Large Group Leader (LGL):

Anyone who feels ready can be a LGL of the day in each room. LGL keeps time, moves the class from connection time to large group time to small group time, and leads the large group time. Team members rotate in taking the LGL role.

Small Group Leader (SGL):

Everyone is a SGL who connects with kids and facilitates small group time activities.

Volunteer Resources

New Volunteer Checklist

  • Background Check: All new Kids Ministry volunteers have to be background check online before shadowing in classrooms.
  • Live Scan Requirement: According to CA Bill AB 506, all regular youth organization volunteers need to undergo Live Scan background checks. Please print the form, fill out the applicant section, take the form and your ID to any locations and complete the scan. Take a picture of the receipt and send it to Soomee Kim @ 650-520-3003 or skim@nbccbayarea.com for reimbursement. NBCC pays for the background check. Agencies should only charge their service fee.
  • Mandated Reporter Training: Please complete the training and send the certificate to skim@nbccbayarea.com. This is also required by CA Bill AB 506.
  • Sign the NBCC Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Handbook: Please read our policy and procedures in the Handbook before serving.
  • 3 weeks of shadowing: This is an opportunity for you to observe classrooms before committing to join our team.
