On Fri, Jan 30, a devastating fire damaged the apartments of 18 families on Rolison Road in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood of Redwood City. This is an underserved part of Redwood City that NBCC has already begun to intentionally serve over the last several years as a part of our commitment to Transform Communities. While we are deeply grateful that no lives were lost, many families were forced to leave with only the clothes they were wearing as they headed to work or school. Although not all of the apartments were completely destroyed, it may be some time before residents are able to return and assess the full extent of the damage and loss of personal belongings. Tragically, some homes have already been looted.
One of our Transforming Communities partners, Levantar, is serving as a connector—helping coordinate care and resources so families can move from crisis toward stability. We are working alongside other trusted partners and creating space for community members who want to help in practical, meaningful ways.
As needs continue to change in real time, NBCC remains committed to coming alongside these families. Here are several ways you can help:
As additional needs and opportunities arise, we will continue to share updates through our website.
