In this week’s message in our “Coming Home” series, Pastor Hurmon focuses on the role of guilt and shame in our lives. By continuing to look closely at the story of the prodigal son, we can understand how to confront the feeling of having done something wrong (guilt), or the feeling of being inherently flawed or defective (shame). The twin emotions of guilt and shame can work either for us, or against us. A productive and healthy response moves us closer to God’s love, honor, and grace. Ultimately, the antidote to guilt and shame operating in your life is coming to know and experience in a deep and personal way, the love of Jesus.
