Pastor Hurmon took us through the third sermon in the “Reset” series as we celebrated the extraordinary life of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Pastor Hurmon discussed the two lids to our personal and professional growth—excuses and the need to be liked. He encouraged us to reset our hearts by taking responsibility for our shortcomings and redefine our excuses as opportunities. He also challenged us to sacrifice our need to be liked and opt to be respected instead and aligned with God’s will.
RESPONSE TO THE MESSAGE:
“I will pursue God’s affirmation above all others.”
