In this fourth message in the New Beginnings series, Pastor Hurmon continues to develop the theme of how God wants us to prepare to do God’s will in both prosperous times and hard times. In order to do that, we must get and stay focused through letting go of past hurts, and turning our sights towards God’s plans for us. Focus requires a clear goal and metric for measuring that goal, minimizing distractions, and focusing on the process of achieving that goal, not merely the end product. A God-centered focus is both a comfort and a challenge. It is based on relationships and often requires us to forgive and let go to become part of God’s bigger plans.
Response to the Message:
I will forgive and focus.
Reflection Questions:
To whom do I need to say “Come close to me”?
